June was an extremely busy month. I was just going through all my pictures and can't believe how much we have done in a short time. This is why the summer's go way too fast!
Adalyn is 10 months old. She is 18 lbs, 14 ounces. When I reference my, "baby" I hesitate as she certainly isn't a little baby anymore! She is crawling at lightning speed, and walking along all of our furniture, glass doors, mirrors, every single thing she can get to. And usually the things she is not supposed to.
We installed gates and it's been a life saver. The only problem is if I leave the room to go upstairs quick, she stands at the gate crying her eyes out because she can't get to Mommy. I have to say, Adalyn is a mommy's girl. 100%! And I am 100% fine (thrilled!) with that! She follows me everywhere. She is my cuddle bug, my playmate, and the love of my life. :)
Our new favorite "game" is hide and seek. She has always loved to do this, but now that she is on the move we have stepped it up a bit. Hiding behind couches, doors, center island, etc. She loves to come and "find me" and hysterically laughs every time she does. I also put her "blankey" over my head and call, "Adalyn!!" She begins to laugh and crawls over to me to pull the blankey off and finds so much delight in this simple game.
The other new game she loves is to be chased. The minute I say, "I'm gonna get you..." she starts to crawl away squealing in delight knowing I will come get her.
You guys, she is SO MUCH FUN! My cup runneth over. I thank Jesus everyday for the joy of having this beautiful baby in my life. I have never known a love like I do for Adalyn.
This last month was Father's Day and we spoiled Daddy! We sent him golfing with a friend all day and went to a nice dinner. Adalyn made him a couple cards and it was a good day celebrating what a wonderful Dad Jimmy is. We are blessed!
Well, like I said June was busy. Besides all the fun we are having at home, we were bale to have some family day's and firsts for Adalyn. We took her swimming up the road to Elm Creek pond. The same pond my parents took me when I was a little girl. It was very cool to do that with our daughter now. We also went to Minehaha Falls and ate at a cute little restaurant there. Adalyn loved watching the water. Unfortunately we went on an extremely busy day and drove around for an hour trying to park. There was some Norwegian event going on. Kind of funny but we had fun anyways.
A couple other local events were the Maple Grove Days parade. Adalyn was super tired from not napping at daycare, but she stayed awake to watch all the people wave and "aaaaah" at her. We also took Adalyn to the local farmers market which was our first time as well. She loved looking at all the people and the pretty flowers we got. She also enjoyed the bread I purchased!
Which leads me to her eating. Adalyn is now eating everything we do. She refuses her Gerber baby food and only wants our food now. Which is fine. She sure has matured and grown up in the last month.
Adalyn now says "mom" and "dad" with reference and is so smart. If we show her a picture of a baby, she points and smiles. When we ask her, "where is the baby?" she points at it! She also waves "bye" and "hi" and points to her doggies.
Adalyn's Likes:
Peek-a-boo

Adalyn's Dislikes:
Being alone (as always)
That's it for now!
Love,
Kristin
