12 Weeks full of thankfulness

Miss Adalyn Grace is 12 weeks old today. She is changing so much and outgrowing a number of adorable outfits she never was able to wear. I already filled an entire storage bin of newborn clothes. Hubby tells me to stop buying her outfits that she won't wear but it's just so hard with all the cute girl clothes out there!

Adalyn started daycare at a new center we absolutely love. The first two weeks that I was back at work she went to a center that was (to put it nicely) HORRIBLE. Adalyn was taken care of and was just fine but there were a number of things that gave me a red flag and we were out of there. The place she is at now is already 100% better and I am actually able to concentrate on work with peace of mind. That is priceless. I find myself missing her during the day and I watch the clock waiting until 5:00 when I can go pick her up and see her smiley face! The teacher says Adalyn is very aware for her age and does not like to be alone. That's my social girl!

Last week was Thanksgiving which is my second favorite holiday. My parents had us and Jimmy's family over which was really nice. Jimmy's Grandma was in town to meet Adalyn and we were able to spend a lot of time with her. Jimmy took 5 days off work and it was so nice to have the family time.

Adalyn has her first cold. I am not surprised as she was in daycare and around so many people with the holiday. Sunday it was very bad and we got concerned as it seemed hard for her to breathe. We called the on-call nurse and after going through her symptoms she recommended we bring her in so we spent Sunday evening in the emergency room. Not fun! But the Dr assured us she has just caught a virus and she is getting much better. Nose Frida is a genius device! :)

As far as Adalyn's likes and dislikes, like I mentioned above she loves to be around people...constantly!  She hasn't shown much interest in toys but instead likes to "play" with us. We started airplane with her and she loves it. She has held and shaken her rattle but I don't know if she quite understands what she's doing. She does not like to be in one position too long so it's a lot of walking around with her and finding different things to entertain her. She used to love her swing but lately hasn't liked being in it too log. That or she just doesn't want to be put down. She has started to pull her head up (like a sit up) when she's in the swing. Not sure what that's about but I think we will be done with the swing soon...

When I reflect on the last 12 weeks I am overwhelmed with so much thankfulness. I remember when Adalyn was just a name I liked. Now it is the name of my busy, social, beautiful baby girl. She means more to me than words can describe. Thanksgiving was the perfect time to remember how great God is and how he answers prayers. So much to be thankful for!!

Love,
Kristin
