Baby girl is 8 months old and growing right before our eyes. After multiple blow outs (gross), we are up another diaper size. And Adalyn is on the move. I have been saying for a couple months that she is so close to crawling and it's still very true. She is sitting on all fours rocking back and forth. She pulls herself along and gets VERY frustrated when she can't get going. I know it will be like a light went off in her head and off she will go. Even though she's not crawling, she is still getting in to everything. She pulls herself along and every time I turn around she is in to something new. So unfortunately she is getting a few scrapes and goose eggs. These kiddos are resilient but mama needs to start baby proofing the house for sure.
We celebrated my first mother's day. Unfortunately Jimmy had to work all day and pretty much all night but my parents came over and it was a nice, relaxing day. Adalyn made me my first card and we had a lot of snuggles! :)
Last week Jimmy went to Breezy Point near Pequot Lakes up north for work. I was alone with Adalyn Tuesday and Wednesday. We had decided to have a little get away and I went up to meet him Thursday. It was SO nice to have some time away. When we discussed what we want to do on our "mini vacation" we both responded...sleep! And that's what we did. We stayed in bed and watched movies and napped and it was glorious. We also did some shopping and hiking and exploring. We sat on the patio and it was amazing to have dinner with no timeline or curfew to get back home to.
With all that said, we missed our baby girl tremendously! My parents were generous enough to stay with her. We are SO lucky to have them!
I came home to a baby girl who now mimics my cough and claps her hands when I sing patty cake, patty cake. Both were taught to her by Grandma. Now we are working on, "so big!"
Adalyn's Likes:
People - very aware now if we leave the room
Mirrors - she can be entertained for a long time
Puffs and wafers - trying more and more flavors and solids
Her sippy cup - LOVES drinking water from it
Music - rocks back and forth when she hears it. I have known since she was in my belly she is going to be musical. :)
