Adalyn Grace - 5 Months old

Last week Adalyn turned 5 months old. She is showing her personality more and more. She now "waves" with her right hand (clearly right handed). It's pretty hilarious. One day Grandma Cook was babysitting and she did it the ENTIRE day...non stop. Now she does it more here and there, but when we wave "bye bye" she does it back. She is so smart.

And strong! She is still flipping over from her back to her tummy (constantly) and gets stuck there. But she is SO close to sitting on her own. I know in the next couple weeks she will be able to. Often you can tell she gets frustrated because she wants to get moving and isn't able to. She will be happy once she has more freedom and independence.

Adalyn's Likes:
Still her feet
Her new doggy toy that talks to her
Baths as always
Sleeping on her side or tummy (I know, yikes!)
Blankets as always
All hanging toys
Teething rings

Adalyn's Dislikes:
Being alone - cries when we leave the room
Naps - still doesn't take many at daycare
Getting in her car seat. Just the initial strapping her in makes her pretty mad
Getting stuck on her belly

Here are some pictures of my baby girl.

We got a roller!

Miss Adalyn seems to be growing leaps and bounds these days! Sometimes I look at her and wonder where my little girl went? I know that sounds silly as she is just shy of 5 months but she sure is growing up.

In the last couple of weeks Adalyn and I have both had terrible colds. I took Adalyn to the Dr. three times. The first was to make sure she didn't catch the RSV virus (very contagious) that was going around in her infant daycare room. Good news was she had not! Bad news - there is not much they can do for colds. The next visit was just to make sure she was still "ok" as she was still under the weather and very uncomfortable. Finally, the third time I took her in, daycare had called me and said she was running a temperature and just not herself. I figured we might as well check again. I AM that Mom, but happy to be if it means protecting my beloved. :) So the third time was the charm (if you want to say that) as we found out she had developed an ear infection. So she has been on meds now over a week. We will be done on Saturday and thank goodness for that. Boy, does she HATE the medicine. The first few days I wonder how much she even got as she spit it out multiple times. She seems to be doing much better and is in great spirits...

Which is very evident as we now have a roller!! Adalyn pretty much refuses to lay on her back these days and goes from her back to her tummy constantly. I laughed so hard with delight when I saw it for the first time. The only bad part is that she still hasn't figured out how to get from her tummy to her back again. But she learned to do this in a matter of a couple of days so I am sure she will catch on soon. Before we know it, she will be crawling all over the house.

Here are some recent pics and a video of my peanut.
