This last weekend my husband and I attended a wedding of our good friend's, Mike and Molly. I have known the groom since I was 11 years old and his wife is one of the sweetest people I have met. We were truly honored to share their day and boy, was it beautiful!!
The wedding was hosted at the Clamshell Beach Resort in Pequot Lakes. This resort was so quaint and beautiful, situated right on the water. The entire resort was designated to attendees of the wedding. What a great idea to have a relaxing weekend with your closest family and friends!!
Here is a shot of the view we had from our cabin. Gorgeous!
Weddings in Northern Minnesota are becoming more and more popular! I wanted to provide a list of the resorts I recommend for weddings if you are looking for a "destination" wedding without having to travel so far away (for you Minnesotan's...).
1. Clamshell Beach Resort - noted above.
2. Grand View Lodge - I recently threw my best friend's bachelorette party here. It is a beautiful setting and very nice resort with a wonderful sales staff!
3. Craguns Resort & Hotel on Gull Lake - Great location and not far from all the action of Pequot Lakes area.
4. Maddens on Gull Lake - this is where I had my bachelorette party. They have a phenomonal golf course and it is a spread out resort with a great restaurant, great views and wonderful amenities.
These are just a few of the resorts to consider when shopping around for a venue.
One thing I will note is that you might need to provide your own caterer for some of these locations. Molly and Mike (the recent bride & groom) had a caterer come in and provide all the food & alcohol. They did a great job and the food was excellent.
You also may need to shop around for a vendor to provide the tent and chairs for your ceremony and reception. Again, it depends where you get married and the type of wedding you want. These are just a few things to keep in mind.
I will leave you with some pictures from the weekend. I am obsessed with the centerpieces!!! I love the use of the mason jars and the different flowers. What a great idea to include the "up North" feel. Each table was named as a lake in Northern Minnesota. Such a cute, unique touch! Mike and Molly also used real wood as coasters which is a great favor! Overall, it was a perfect wedding celebrating a great couple!
Love,
Kristin
